After the success of his summer mixtape Live From The Lac, JAMS TFC decided to set the streets on fire one last time before closing out the year of 2022. While many artists may tend to stay away from that 4th quarter release schedule, JAMS isn’t letting anything get in his way of putting his craft out into the world and letting the listeners enjoy it, no matter what. Dropping two projects in the same year is a first for JAMS, but he executes it so effortlessly, and each project serves its own purpose, tells its own story, and has its own unique vibe to them. Back again with more heat, here is JAMS’ latest project, MidWest Coast.
While currently based in LA, JAMS is Chicago born and raised, and will always have a love for the city as he consistently comes back home to soak in his roots. Being able to live in not only two different states, but two different coasts is something that speaks to JAMS’ range that he exerts. The vibe of the west coast and the midwest are two completely different styles, but JAMS has been able to blend the two so perfectly, almost creating a brand-new style of rap that has never been done before. The title alone is encapturing, as it is a play on words of Midwest (where he’s from), and west coast (where he currently resides).
Produced entirely by Polyester The Saint, JAMS and Polyester have been able to master the art of locking in and creating the perfect chemistry needed to create a project this unique. Pulling inspiration from his experiences living on the west coast and living in Chicago, these two work together effortlessly and you can immediately tell that JAMS collaborates with him well on each and every song on the project. “Flight 2 Japan” would definitely be the standout here, as I feel it perfectly masters that art of blending two different styles together, while still sounding authentically like JAMS and doesn’t stray away from the caliber in which he delivers.
When speaking about the project, JAMS says:
“For the MidWest Coast visuals, I took the Cadillac across the map from the beaches of LA, to the Colorado mountains, corn fields in Iowa, and all the way back home to the city of Chicago. This project was a fun holistic effort, I came with something to prove on this one. I feel like MidWest Coast embodies my range, duality, and personality better than any project I’ve done yet.”
