It’s about time I make some room on the site for Alabama’s blossoming up-and-coming rap scene, so I’m honored to be welcoming Childersburg, AL native, Quoncho, to the page this afternoon to make his Lyrical debut. In collaboration with producer, Lollypopbeatz, a few weeks back Quoncho dropped off his second project of 2023, “Zip Em All”, and left us with 5 new momentous records to turn up to this Friday night. Full of nothing but head knocking basslines and punctual bars, the rising underground maestro hand-crafted a masterclass on southern rap that has no business being considered “underground” for much longer.
Already putting up relatively consistent numbers across all the tracks, we can see that “Zip Em All” is simply not something that fans can listen to just one time around – this is a body of work with depth and staying power. Featuring poignant records such as “Fuck The Other Side”, “Demons Knockin’”, and “Broke Opps”, it’s nearly impossible to listen through this project without at least a few saves and an anxious expectancy to want to know when we’ll hear from Quoncho next.
