Wild – [Tony Velour]

From boundary-pushing sonics to mysterious, intriguing aesthetics, Tony Velour is on his way to inevitable stardom. Few and far in between are the artists that I get this excited about, but considering the risks that Velour is willing to take as well as his unbelievable resume of work to date — most recently appearing on the new Injury Reserve album with “New Hawaii” — I simply have to acknowledge the potential at hand here. Today, Velour is back and ready to take the spotlight with a brand new offering, “Wild.”

Produced by none other than Dylan Brady, whom Velour has worked with several times in the past, the best way to describe this offering is “futuristic.” The song itself possesses a powerful, industrial sound, and without getting washed away by the sheer force of the instrumental, Velour complements this energy with a supply of mesmerizing deliveries to match. Furthermore, and best of all, if you ask me, “Wild” leaves any and all rules in the dust, pushing the ball forward without losing even a hint of meaning or impact along the way.

That said, while the song is certainly incredible, we can’t not mention the accompanying visuals. Capturing a vivid picture of night-life, this candid set of scenes chases Velour and co. around a city as they seemingly have the time of their lives, and without flaw, each shot perfectly captures the magic of this offering and its unique, left-field appeal.

Something about Tony Velour just screams that he’s the future of music, and personally, I can’t wait to see where the budding talent heads in the months to come. In the meantime, “Wild” is an impeccable release and the marking of yet another great collaboration between Velour and Brady, so be sure to click play on this one below!
