Watch Vic Mensa’s “Down To Start A Riot” Documentary

The guys over at FADER recently caught up with Vic Mensa and some of his Savemoney crew including Joey Purp, Towkio, Stefan Ponce and more to create and give us the “Down To Start A Riot” documentary. The film starts with Vic climbing fences and walking through some rough terrain to get to the “X-Men Cave,” a place where he use to smoke and chill when he was “like twelve years old.” This opening might not fully make sense to most of you, the ‘X-Men’ where a popular graffiti group back in the 80’s and 90’s in Chicago, I only know this because my father was a leading member in the group. Soon after Vic speaks on his childhood, the lifestyle of drinking and doing drugs at a young age and being considered a punk. Within the video, you will also find Vic speaking on subjects such as being a straight A student, Hyde Park, tagging, and having a friend of a friend murdered on his block. Nothing more I can say will do justice for this solid documentary, click play below to watch it.
