Now four projects deep into 2018, NYC native MIKE has been outworking everybody this year. His sound, off the beaten path and sure to push some boundaries, is both captivating and intricate in the best of ways, and today, this is emphasized with MIKE’s latest tape, War In My Pen. As the title entails, this buzzing talent’s lyricism is dense as can be. He speaks his truth over a backdrop of soul-torn, alluring instrumentation, and with a creative vision advanced far beyond his years, War In My Pen arrives with a tint of wisdom and artistic maturity that will keep you clicking replay again and again. The truth is, MIKE is in a lane of his own right now, and it’s made him one of the most promising artists that I’ve heard all year long.
