WALKED IN – [Eem Triplin]

I think it’s safe to say that Eem Triplin’s rise to fame isn’t quite the typical rags-to-riches story. I mean, I don’t know much about his life prior to music so I can’t speak on that, but I’m more so referring to the fact that he first saw some huge success with his production long before he even spat his first bar. Of course, those who know a little more about Eem than his music alone know that he was the beat smith behind some of $NOT’s biggest hits, but I think he really outdid himself once he stepped into the booth himself.

Out of all of his hits, I think it’s safe to say that “WALKED IN” is certainly one of my all-time favorites so far, so once he teamed up with director MetroBlu to shoot a music video, I wasted no time checking it out. Like all of his other videos, this one lacks no creativity whatsoever. Even though there is less of a plot to this one compared to some of his others, it is just addicting.

This is due to the numerous pieces of footage that are shown in a unique montage of sorts that highlight some of his massive performances from his recent appearances on LUCKI’s “Flawless Like Me: The Made Martian Tour”. Alongside these clips, there are random shots of Eem carelessly throwing money in the air mixed in throughout. To my surprise, there were even a few clips that showed off the emcee’s recent trip to the Lyrical Lemonade Headquarters here in Chicago for his must-watch Lemonade Stand Interview, so you already know you’re not going to want to overlook this visual masterpiece.

Beyond this song, I knew I was going to be a fan from the moment he dropped his song “AWKWARD FREESTYLE” considering the infamous Tyler, the Creator sample that was masterfully used. Ever since, Eem has generated tens of millions of streams, received co-signs from iconic musicians, and he just finished touring with LUCKI. If you missed him on the sold-out tour, don’t worry! He is tagging along with $NOT, Night Lovell, and DC the Don on the “Get Busy or Die Tour”, so you have to make sure to catch him in your city if you’re able to so you can witness “WALKED IN” live and in-person!
