Nigerian-born but Atlanta-living rapper dndSection is back in our pages yet again today with his introspective and reflective new video to his track “Villain” which is the intro of his new EP bad things will not happen again. Pefect 10 supplied the groovy but soulful instrumental with drums patterned in the ‘drill’ style with skittish hi-hats and deep, sliding 808-s but is offset by a subdued but rousing vocal sample from Sampha that plays well alongside Section’s lyrics that ponder his place in the world and simultaneously reveal his unrelenting ambition. The entire EP was very well-produced and showcased Section in more of an emotional light as opposed to more of his party-centric upbeat tracks that first introduced me to him and that support came courtesy of AJ Ruined My Record, 88 Jay, DiorMade, and Master Don along side the rest of Section’s team. There is lots more music on the way but for now enjoy this video and bad things will not happen again.
