Too real – [King Von]

I know I have been writing a ton about the late King Von as of late, and I also recognize that I typically mention how he was taken from this Earth way too soon and his potential was snatched before we could even see what kind of massive shoes he was going to be able to fill, even more so than he already proved. While I always believe these things and will forever know they’re true, I don’t want to mourn any longer because he left such a legacy behind that needs to be celebrated, and not questioned in ambiguity.

This past Friday, Von’s estate dropped his album What it Means to be King, a 19-song album that I have been bumping all weekend long, and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon. While every single verse that Von delivers proves why he was a diamond in the rough in the music industry, there were tons of other legendary emcees who joined in to spit a verse or two including G Herbo, 21 Savage, Lil Durk, Fivio Foreign, OMB Peezy, Tee Grizzley, and many others, each of whom definitely make a splash on an already impactful project.

I personally feel like my words won’t be able to do Von justice, so I feel like you should just listen yourself when you have time to fully sit down without any distractions and ingest it in all of its glory. In the meantime, Von had teamed up with DrewFilmedIt to shoot a music video for his cut “Too Real”, and it is even more special to have actual footage of the iconic Chicago legend because we, unfortunately, know that there is only so much unseen footage left to be released, so moments like these are undeniable spectacles.

Von kept some of the classic drill visual mainstays that we all know and love, but he definitely turned things up a notch thanks to the use of pyrotechnics as fire explosions decorate his rearview and he trades out the typical weapons for a flamethrower that would still have his opps fearing for their lives. What it Means to be King is obviously an instant classic, and the music video for his hit “Too Real” makes it even better, so make sure you don’t sleep and check out the new visual below sooner rather than later.
