There’s a reason that Lil Gray is tagged the “Man of Many Flows.” Quite literally, he’s just that, and has proven this time and time again, sounding equally as comfortable on the melodic, guitar-infused production of “Uhaul” as he does the hard-nosed edge of “Jay-Z Freestyle.” Put simply, the DMV native has become a stylistic chameleon on his own terms, which shows in every new release that Gray puts out. Today, this versatility is demonstrated in brand new territory, as Gray ventures into the world of drill with a brand new song and video, “Thieves.”
Just under three minutes in length, “Thieves” takes the infectious movement of drill 808s and assigns it to Gray’s fast-paced supply of flows. The result is an impressive new release for the DMV native, and one that places an emphasis on two central factors of Gray’s appeal: versatility and lyrical skill. The two don’t always mix in such effortless fashion, but “Thieves” makes sure to forge an undeniable marriage of the two, topped off by an enthralling set of visuals from Clockwork-Productions.
Needless to say, the Man of Many Flows has done it again, and by the looks of it, he won’t be slowing down anytime soon. Check out “Thieves” below:
