The Manuscript – [Vic Mensa]

Everyone remembers Vic’s breakout project was Innanetape way back in September 2013. That mixtape became a classic, and I still bump it today. Since then, he released a number of singles and freestyles. The next big step in his career came in April 2015 when he signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation. Vic officially became the Savemoney Roc boy we all know now. He announced that he had signed to Roc Nation by releasing a song you all might have head before. It was called “U Mad” featuring Kanye West. At this point, everyone assumed that Vic was about to takeoff. There was a little halt on the amount of material we got from the Savemoney affiliate after he signed to Roc Nation, but then, he dropped his ep, There’s Alot Going On. Along with dropping this, he announced that he also had an album in the works too called, Traffic. Some more time passed before we got anymore news about Traffic. Then he took to Twitter to tell fans that the album was 90% done. That’s all we got from him. No singles or anything from the album, just an announcement that it was almost complete. Well, not it is June 8th, 2017 and we’ve got the next project from Vic, and it’s not Traffic. It’s called The Manuscript and it’s incredible. Yes, it did take a while to get this project, but at least Vic didn’t pull a Frank Ocean on us. The Manuscript features some of his best work yet. We don’t know if this project was supposed to be Traffic or if he is holding Traffic in his back pocket. What we do know is that this isn’t the old, Innanetape Vic that we hear on this project. This is new Savemoney Roc boy Vic, and he is awesome. It is also safe to assume that there will be another short ep from Vic coming sometime soon. If you look closely on the cover art for The Manuscript, you will see on it that it says 1/2 so project 2/2 has to be in the works, but for now, listen to The Manuscript below.
