The Beatles – [Bernard Jabs]

Although I know that I still need to familiarize myself more with the sonic landscape that Bernard Jabs has been bringing to life, already undoubtedly know that he’s one of the most individualistic artists in the entire industry. His voice is truly one of a kind, and it’s this interesting sound that drew me in, but his energy and enthusiasm are also one of a kind, making him an artist that definitely deserves much more recognition than he already receives. Nonetheless, he is going to continue to put on for his city and prove why he is an artist that deserves much more respect, and his latest Swizzymack-produced song “The Beatles” is a perfect example as to why.

Within the production, we are introduced to some soothing, edited guitar riffs that are eventually met with absolutely booming drums, snappish percussion, and a very groovy bass line that is an unbelievable foundation for Bernard to build off of. After hearing the beat, it caught me off guard because it was much chiller and more relaxed than the other songs I’ve heard from him, but knowing his talents and versatility, I wasn’t surprised when he went in and absolutely crushed it. In the hook, he boasts some nifty bars that teeter on the line of singing and rapping, but regardless of what the actual outcome is, his personality absolutely shines through and gives you the perfect example as to why he’s been popping off recently.

He continues with a similar cadence into his verse, but he gets slightly more animated with his words, stretching them out a little more while letting his background hums elevate his sounds perfectly, showing a slightly different side of himself that I can’t help but appreciate. Whether you’re already a day one fan of Bernard Jabs or not, “The Beatles” is a song that you’re not going to want to pass up, alongside another amazing Sam McGrath-directed black-and0white visual that accompanies it.
