Joyce Wrice returns to Lyrical Lemonade with a remix of her highly acclaimed single “That’s on You,” produced by Austin Brown. Adding fellow rising artist UMI onto the track, the remix is unique because it is a Japanese version that sprinkles elements of the East Asian language for a culturally infused record. Followers of Wrice and UMI know that both artists are Japanese American; specifically half-black and half Japanese (both have a Japanese mother & African-American father). Therefore, the auditory amalgamation of the English and Japanese language beautifully represent the upbringings of two phenomenal artists that we globally adore today. Of course, from a pure listening perspective it doesn’t matter what language Joyce Wrice or UMI speak; the impeccability of their vocals are always present, and perhaps amplified in the Japanese tongue.
