Hannah Gross is just the latest industry gem who I’ve had the pleasure of stumbling upon this week; And when I used the word gem, it is meant to describe the undeniable spark or light that one has surrounding them and just based off of my few interactions with the singer/songwriter, it is more than evident that she has a special spirit about her that is contagious. Before her latest song made it onto my radar, I wasn’t familiar with the Michigan native, but after checking out her music, there is so much excitement in my heart for her career.
The now LA residing artist has been making music for some time now, but according to her, she’s only released three songs on streaming platforms. Her newest one called, “Tell Me” is the offering that caught my attention as there is a gentleness yet immense depth that permeates through the seams of it. When you listen to Hannah’s voice, theres no doubt that she can sing, but what I love most about her is the way she expresses her emotions in a way that allows listeners to connect with every single thing that she’s saying. I got a chance to talk to Hannah about what this song means to her and she explained that she wrote this song over a year ago and just held onto to the demo for a while. If you’ve listened to her other songs, they are definitely much more upbeat and pop oriented, but Hannah wanted this one to be different. As great as the music sounded on the outside, Hannah felt like it was missing depth, so she set out to let people to know who she really was and separate herself from other mainstream pop leaning music. “Tell Me” is a song about an ex. A lot of music these days touch on topics like these, but this was Hannah’s first time allowing herself to be vulnerable which is why it is such an easy track to relate to since she lets it all out throughout the verses and melodies. Written with two close collaborators in a bedroom studio set-up, “Tell Me” is a powerful and moving track that Hannah should be extremely proud of.
I’ve attached the Spotify link down below, so check out Hannah’s latest offering, “Tell Me” and let us know what you think!
