SUN – [Jhon MyQuale]

SUN is a must hear song from Queens native, Jhon MyQuale. This track is a hit from beginning to end. The DePaul student proves himself on numerous platforms with this offering, most notably his production and conceptual worth. The self produced track opens a feel good trumpet line accompanied with spacey keys. Jhon shows excellent voice control as he bounces with melodic flows as the bass drums gives an uptempo feel. During the first verse he speaks of feeling low, but with the sun, representing pure happiness, he knows great things are approaching. I was also elated to hear Ali of New Kingz adding a soulful hook as only he can deliver. Again, the seamless transitions of the production gives the track such a great feel. The second verse features a more hip hop bounce feel that turns the song into a headbanger. Shawnee Day adds another soulful ad lib to the hook. Ali and Shawnee’s voice compliment each other very well, hoping to see another collab with those two soon. The track ends with a keyboard solo. Jhon accredits SWM, whom I haven’t heard much about. But the piano solo is the icing on the cake. I had the pleasure of seeing Jhon and Ali perform this track live earlier this summer at Young Chicago Author’s weekly open mic, which is budding with young promising Chicago talent. Check out the hit track below and be on the lookout for new music from Jhon soon.
