Buxton’s inspiritation and thoughts behind ‘Suburban Popstar’

“Suburban Popstar is a project and movement about being more. In addition, it showcases that I don’t have to leave my location to be a considered a “next up artist.” I don’t have to bury myself in the hills of Los Angeles or the overwhelming streets of New York City to get my values and words across. I can be me. I can stick to my suburban roots and allow those before and after me to understand that regardless of what style of music you make, it’s okay to be happy with where you came from.”

“With songs like “LA” and “Came Up,” I show vulnerability of being afraid to open up and being afraid of life’s uncertainty. I wanted those songs on the project to show how we all relate in the fact that we are scared and insecure at times. We all have dreams and aspirations that scare us.
