Upon my first few interactions with Quin NFN’s music, I found myself immediately intrigued by this Energizer Bunny-esque ball of excitement, knocking out every beat he jumped on without ever losing steam in the process. As time has gone on, however, not only has Quin sharpened this image, but he’s also expanded it, now including a more sentimental tint to his music that only makes things more personal and more meaningful along the way. Today, bringing this artistic development full-circle, NFN is here with an incredible new release, “Stay Down.”
Produced by The Truth Experiment, “Stay Down” is the sonic manifestation of Quin’s deepest thoughts, reflecting on success and the trials and tribulations that come with the life of a star-bound artist. In such a way, the song balances universal themes of loyalty and dedication with references to Quin’s personal life — a two-fold sense of purpose that allows this song to speak to Quin’s close ones without being lost on the general public.
That said, “Stay Down” does what most artists can’t without even breaking a sweat, and if not anything else, its anthemic nature should allow this one to speak for itself.
All signs continue to point up for Texas’ own, so don’t sleep; Quin NFN is a star, and “Stay Down” is proof.
