It’s been a minute since Ric Wilson last appeared on our page, but the Southside native has been working on something special in the form of a new EP. Titled “BANBA”, the Chicago artist announced the EP will be dropping on May 18th and also released the first single off the project. “Split” picks up right where Ric left off with 2017’s “Negrow Disco” project, as he returns yet again with something for us all to dance to. As he reconciles two opposing forces of fantasy and reality, Ric flows with ease over bright, minimal production courtesy of producer Hirsh. He also recruits Chicago musician Sen Morimoto, whose smooth saxophone riffs are beginning to become a staple in Chicago’s underground music scene. “Split” reinstates that Ric Wilson is one of the most talented artists coming out of the city right now, and with “BANBA” not too far away, it will be exciting to hear what else he has up his sleeve.
