Louisiana born singer-songwriter and rapper, Deshun has resurfaced from a few years of hiatus to deliver a hard-hitting self-produced freestyle. This is his second release this year, releasing his soulful single, “Chooselove” back in early February. His previous single explored Deshun’s vocal ability while his new “Silk Shirt Freestyle” relies on his technical ability as an MC. The track exudes confidence, as Deshun uses his wordplay ability to name-drop the likes of “Top Dawg” Tiffith. Deshun spoke about the track saying,
“The original beat started out with a bunch of synths and pianos and I completely just stripped it and left with the 808’s, snares and hi-hats and said, ‘this will be dope!’ I’m adopting the mentality that simplicity is really key and I feel whatever I’m listening to or doing and it just feels natural to just roll with it. I freestyled the hook and boom, here we are! ”
