Winnipeg’s own smrtdeath is a familiar face on our pages, and a few days ago, he dropped his latest EP titled Sethany. The 25-year-old started making waves earlier this year with his stunning visual for Clipped My Own Wings, and while I would closely compare his delivery to someone like Lil Peep, there seems to be a lot more to his dynamic style which you’ll be soon to find out on this project. With production coming from an array of producers, smrtdeath was at the forefront for each track as he showcased his drippy autotune vocals and an alternative-rock influence that separates him from the evolving hip-hop scene’s in Canada and the U.S. From the undeniable energy in Let It Bleed to the slowed-down, psychedelic track in Holographic with Lord Narf, smrtdeath seems to change tones throughout the project which takes the listener on a rollercoaster of emotions making it one of the most impressive projects I’ve seen from a Canadian artist this year. I won’t spoil too much though, give the Sethany EP a try down below and let us know if you’re digging it in the comments!
