SAY YA GRACE — [Chief Keef & Lil Yachty]

The beat go off?

By now, we hope that you gave our first-ever compilation album All Is Yellow a spin. Led in by a handful of singles like “FALLOUT,” “Stop Giving Me Advice,”  “Hello There,” Guitar In My Room” and “Doomsday,” worlds finally collided last Friday, as we at Lyrical Lemonade shared our 14-track album after YEARS of work.

Unexpected collaborations galore fill the entirety of the project, but a few link-ups make perfect sense. Whether it’s “This My Life” with Lyrical veterans in Lil Skies, Lil Tecca and The Kid LAROI, “Fly Away” with Sheck Wes, JID and Ski Mask the Slump God or “With The Fish” featuring longtime friend $NOT and the late-6Dogs, no collaboration creates more fireworks than Lil Yachty and Chief Keef’s “Say Ya Grace.”

Coinciding the release of All Is Yellow (Jan. 26), “Say Ya Grace” has quickly become the most memorable of AIY cuts in its initial aftermath. Did you catch the “bang” ad-libs in the beginning of the song? That’s actually the voice of our fearless leader Cole Bennett — helping out Sosa by playing into his Chicago roots and placing his own version of Keef’s signature vocal shrills. The beat, spearheaded by producers Carlton McDowell and Daniyel, is equal parts infectious and iconic, as Keef’s “the beat go off” intro instantly sets the tone for the banger that’s ahead.

Whistle sound effects, warbled vocal samples, deep 808s and an inimitable energy cultivated between Boat and Sosa is what makes “Say Ya Grace” an undoubted highlight. Although it took some convincing to get Chief Keef in the now-notorious black suit-yellow tie combo, the yellow curtain makes an appearance in the Cole Bennett-directed visual, as Yachty and Sosa emerge to-and-from from the embossed yellow tent pictured on the track list.

Reminder: we promised a video for each song on the album. With seven visuals down (including the release of BabyTron and GHerbo’s “Equilibrium”), there’s seven left to go. Stay tuned as the AIY rollout continues every week for the next few months.

We’d love to hear from you… What’s your favorite track off All Is Yellow?
