It’s been a long six months since Young Thug dropped his outstanding tape JEFFERY, arguably his best work to date. For an artist with a catalogue so prolific, it was a quiet few months on the music front – it looks like that’s about to change with the release of a new song/video titled “Safe”. This track is Thug at his best, with a variety of eccentric flows and inflections that sound like no-one else but himself; the video itself doesn’t hold up to the standard of past Thugger works like “Wyclef Jean”, “With That”, or “Best Friend” but the track’s strength more than makes up for the lackluster visuals. Young Thug continues to be one of the most exciting and consistent rappers in the game, and knowing his work ethic, it won’t be long until we get another new project from the ATLien.
