Yung Bans has become a household name for many of the common followers of the Lyrical Lemonade, and is one of my most heavily rotated artists presently. Nevertheless, Bans continues to amaze with new, creative flows and styles unique to only himself – as portrayed in his new single “Rockstar Forever.” Bans’ animated lines and expressions are as unpredictable as they are enamoring, allowing for a new experience for listeners any time a new piece is released. His dubious lyricism and rhythm are accompanied by distinctive vocal tones that only he can seem to hit. Quirky lows mixed with adolescent highs mix perfectly with a pop-influenced instrumental that only he could polish.
In “Rockstar Forever”, Bans proclaims how his rock-stardom is unique and can’t be touched, referencing how others unsuccessfully try to replicate the wave he’s created in hip-hop culture. “Haha jokes on you, n***as tryin’ copy my move.” His individuality expressed in his music is in my opinion what attracts the attention from the millions of followers he’s accumulated – and is what causes onlookers to attempt to duplicate. “Rockstar Forever” was posted on SoundCloud in late May, and is up to 74.9k streams to date.
