Ahead of this project, I had the opportunity to speak with Rob about his journey leading up to “4God II.” Check out our conversation below.
Lyrical Lemonade: Since the release of Vulture Island last April, you have reached new heights in your career. When you reflect on your journey thus far, what was the moment that you would say stamped your presence in the game?
Rob49: I feel like just staying consistent with my drops helped me stamp my presence. I feel like with Houston Girls, Yes You Did Ft. Boston Richey, Hustlers Anthem, Add It Up, And 4GOD it just showed people that I can consistently make music that others would love listening to.
Lyrical Lemonade: Your latest single “Hate it or Love it” ft. Da Baby was a smash. How did this collaboration come about? Was it easy for you to trust Da Baby when it comes to directing the video?
Rob49: The collaboration really came easy, it was something that both of us wanted to do. He was in Miami and asked was I there, we linked that night and made 2 bangers! With the video it was the most exciting thing about the entire experience, just seeing Dababy in his element and it coming out exactly how we wanted it to was just perfect and fun.
Lyrical Lemonade: How is 4 God II different from the first version?
Rob49: I feel like this is my first project that I’m excited about letting the world hear, it feels like I finally found myself and people are accepting it and finally enjoying the vibes it gives off.
Lyrical Lemonade: What are something your fans can expect to see from you this year?
Rob49: My fans can expect to see me dropping more than I ever dropped, and hustling hard. I want to solidify myself more this year as one of the hardest in the world.
