FullyLoaded has quietly developed into one of the most formidable young collectives of sorts in the entire state of Tennessee, initially beginning with the rise of IVBeatss whose signing to Tay Keith’s Drumatized imprint at only seventeen launched him into the ranks of southern production royalty and the past several years have seen him develop and refine his style, racking up major placements along the way. This opened the door for TanaFullyLoaded who may be more recognizable by his tag “Aye Tana fye that shit up” that has become almost ubiquitous within the Detroit style, proving himself to be one of the foremost players in the Detroit-Nashville pipeline that has grown exponentially over the past five years. LamuFullyLoaded, f.k.a. Bertheolamu is the only rapper of the bunch, but also produces much of his own music, never fearing experimentation with his vocals, flows, and beat selection and he has quietly built up a very substantial catalog for himself and over the past two years has proven himself to be a model of consistency. His latest visual for his track “Risks” is aptly named both for the risks that he raps about taking to feed himself and his child, but also for the artistic risks he takes trying to hone a sound that is both familiar and distinctive. The visual is some of my favorite work yet from Nashville’s Dandoozled who has facilitated the growth of many underground artists in the city and seems to have stepped up his game greatly in terms of editing in recent months. I think the sky is the limit for Lamu and hope we see a lot more visuals from him in 2022.
