Riot – [Nardo Wick]

I think if you look at the track record that Nardo Wick has built for himself over the last year or two, it is something that could go toe to toe with the very hottest emcees out right now, and he might just take the cake for the king of them all. Now personally, if I’m being as transparent as I can be, I haven’t really listened to him nearly as heavily as others have, but that doesn’t mean I have any less respect for the musician.

I mean, I have the utmost respect for all Florida spitters, especially when they can stand out in such a captivating manner as Nardo, and he is only continuing to get better and gain more listeners with time. When the 2022 XXL Freshman list dropped yesterday, I would have been baffled if his name wasn’t included on the list, but considering he is one of the most prominent members of the group, I think he’s definitely one undeniable person that XXL got right.

Well, ahead of what is sure to be one of the most exciting performances at this Summer Smash this weekend, Nardo dropped a song called “Riot” produced by Trademark, LMC, ProdbyJM, and INDYAH, and while I don’t have extensive knowledge of his discography as I mentioned previously, I think this might be my favorite song from him yet. The instrumental is just so menacing, and his devilish flows on top of the beat take this track to depths that I never knew existed in the best possible way.

Especially in the beginning, there is a moment of this song where there is no production, and his words just drill into your brain before a gunshot rings out and the beat drops all over again. I am definitely blown away by this release from Nardo Wick, and the NDOH-directed music video takes it to new heights, so this isn’t something you’re going to want to miss by any means moving forward.
