The space that the rising next wave of pop acts hold within their respective music scene at this current moment can practically be called anything other than one-dimensional. Nearly every single act working inside this landscape has a great deal of sounds and styles to bring to the table that detract from what anyone could consider their all-around “signature” sound.
For the best picture of this sentiment being put into motion on repeated occasions, one does not have to look any further than some of the most prominent acts at the forefront of this landscape right now. To say that Kuru is among that select group would be selling him short, as just about every single one of his latest string of singles has sounded quite different from the last — all but diversifying his already extensively dynamic catalog in the process.
Even with that being said however, his latest in this aforementioned string entitled “Resolve”is something of an extreme detraction from what might be known as an atypical Kuru offering. This track is an exhilarating offering that saturates itself in the worlds of breakcore and happy hardcore more than anything else — mostly due in large part to the exceptional production provided by both Alice Gas and Angelus.
The beat provides a perfectly nuanced platform for Kuru to impress upon, and he does exactly that throughout the song’s entirety with his always-moving and gripping vocal demeanor. But he is not alone in this venture on the mic, as quite literally out of nowhere, Ericdoa makes a guest appearance on the track under the guise of his alter-ego/side-project Dante Red, in the process delivering an emphatic verse of his own with his characteristic bit-crushed vocals, which do nothing else but add to the song’s upbeat and digitized atmosphere.
The four acts on this song truly do their part in their respective fields – both on vocals and production – to create yet another experience unlike anything ever heard in a landscape that sees new songs entering the fray every single day.
