It is always a welcome surprise for an artist to showcase their versatility with a wide range of differing tracks. This becomes especially true when an artist can influence and pave the way for numerous others via each of their sonic directions, practically raising their influential status that much higher in the process.
To say that an artist like Joeyy fits the mold that these descriptions entail would be selling even such an immensely important act like him short. With a variety of sounds and styles alike at their disposal, the 1team icon has proven to be a one-stop source for all things progressively modern when it comes to hip-hop and pop alike. The sheer lengths that this ever-versatile performer can go to with his instantly recognizable vocals are impressive to say the very least, and far too resounding to simply ignore at the very most.
Yet despite all of these aspects being so apparent within his discography, he is continuing to flaunt his dynamic nature with each successive single released. The latest of these releases entitled “Redact” is just another stylistic departure among the rest, and of course knowing the type of act we’re dealing with here, it went off in superb fashion once again.

It provides a dark setting for Joeyy’s usually-bright and upfront delivery to take a new direction in such a swift manner. Though this setting is not of his norm, it is safe to say his talents allow him to perform just as well as he would on any of his other offerings.
A claim like this can be made simply due to the fact that he perfectly matches the beat’s strong atmosphere with his dynamic presence alone. His voice shifts to a downing, low-register approach that seems to seep into the swirling synths and powerful low ends that make up the track’s setting as a whole. Taking his inflection alone, however, would only prove a portion of his overall performance here, as his trudging yet magnetic flow does all it needs to in moving the song forward at its appropriate pace — a wholly effective one at that. And it would not be a Joeyy track without some of the most memorable and bursting wordplay heard amongst all his peers, with line after line in this track being completely clever and momentous by themselves.
Joeyy has yet again proven their untapped place in the modern music landscape with this track — a place that is often overlooked, but completely acclaimed by those in the know. With singles like these beginning to pile up on each other, it is only a matter of time before an appropriately immense audience begins to take shape for this outstanding artist; not many deserve this gift quite as much as he does.
