Goon Des Garcons* is an artist that simply needs to be on your radar in 2018. The Little Rock native’s unique stylistic approach to music never ceases to provide ample energy to every release, and today, he’s back to our pages with a hypnotic new offering titled “Quarter Century Freestyle”. Featuring production from frequent collaborator Idle Kid, this song finds itself exploring the life that this rising talent lives in a mix of introspective, triumphant, and illustrative bars, all of which come together to make for a song that I haven’t been able to keep off of repeat since its release. Additionally, Garcons* decided to bless us with accompanying visuals for the track directed by Corey Howell, utilizing a fisheye lens to illustrate the way that this song seems to offer to listeners “the world in the eyes of Goon Des Garcons*”. With this, it comes across as an eye-catching release filled with bright colors, deep emotion, and a number of other polarizing aspects that have kept me glued to this young talent from the very beginning. Be sure to check out “Quarter Century Freestyle” below and let us know what you think in the comments. I predict that you will be hearing Goon Des Garcons* name quite a bit in 2018 as his stock continues to rise.
