Public Enemy – [POORSTACY]

Out of everyone in the music industry, I don’t think I can think of anyone who’s as unique POORSTACY. He is bringing back the punk rock scene in full force, getting acts like the legendary Travis Barker to back him up on many of his most recent songs, and I couldn’t be more excited. Just yesterday, STACY decided to surprise fans with his latest song “Public Enemy” as well as a wild music video to accompany it.

When it comes to the record itself, the instrumental begins with some deep bass strums before classic rock drums and hats come crashing into the picture and really get the party going. When this happens, STACY begins to almost yell into the microphone, using the distortion to his advantage in order to provide a natural grittiness to the punk-inspired track. While many people bring the energy for the hook and tone it down for their verses, STACY seems to do the opposite as he heightens his enthusiasm throughout, leading us up to a pinnacle that is truly unforgettable.

When it comes to the music video that was a tag-team effort between Mooch and STACY himself, they make it a community affair but instead of a typical block party, they bring out all the ragers and misfits to join in on an insane banger. The camera work contains quick cuts from one shot to another to match the chaos within the song, and to level everything up even more, people crush beers, break skateboards, and wreak havoc all over the property that they seemed to take over for themselves. After all the hecticness ensues, the song comes to an end and a visual of STACY sitting in a dark, red-lit room begins as he goes on a deep and revealing tangent answering the question, “what is it you don’t like about society?”.

I know I rant and rave often about how much I enjoy POORSTACY’s music, but he just takes me back to the days when my friends and I used to try and skateboard, listen to the hottest punk records and try and rebel as much as we could. While we never got even close to the levels of rebellion that STACY or other rock stars have gotten to, we looked up to them and wanted to be like them, so seeing an artist like POORSTACY bring back such a nostalgic sound for me is something I can’t help but praise every step of the way. “Public Enemy” is the latest and greatest offering from POORSTACY, so make sure you don’t miss out on this amazing release and check it out ASAP!
