Propellor/Nosebleed – [Leaf Set] x [Dax] x [Emily Blue]

I was first introduced to the mysterious collective known as Leaf Set after seeing some vivid, colorful photography online and that same imagery led me to their imaginative 2015 single, “Drone”.  Fast forward to 2017- the group is preparing for the release of their latest album FILM set to drop later this year and they definitely have some big things in store. The same photography that first drew me to the group turns out to be the work of Rachel Bernard aka Lil Rach, their so called “eyes in the sky”, who ensures that all visual content for the group is intriguing and masterfully done. “Propeller/Nosebleed” is the second single from the upcoming album and the eye popping cover art is courtesy of Lil Rach and fellow Leaf Set member Drake Speidel. As for the music, the hypnotic production was handled by Jordan Dillman and Kwame, while Dave G (who plays bass for the band Oops) laid the live bass. Dax’s raps explore everyday hope and anxieties with a steady rhythmic flow and Emily Blue provides a beautiful touch with the additional vocals. Last but not least, Jasper Macrae mixed and mastered the track, tying the figurative bow on the sonic gift that is “Propellor/Nosebleed”. The song is a genre blending piece that invokes emotion and keeps the listener engaged from start to finish, you can stream it below and be sure to follow the band on Soundcloud and Twitter (@Leaf_Set ) while you’re at it to tune in to the unique frequency known as Leaf Set. FILM is coming soon…
