Every so often, I find an artist that will go on a hot streak of tracks that I can’t stop listening to. And unfortunately in most cases, these streaks seem to come to an abrupt end or the artist inexplicably fades out of my rotation. However, Polo G has maintained his hot streak since the first song I heard of his. It started in 2018 with “Finer Things” and carried on through hits like “Battle Cry,” “Deep Wounds,” and his breakout hit “Pop Out.” So when I saw a new track on my feed, my expectations were as high as ever – and Polo did not disappoint. “Our Bond” has a flawless, poetic feel in which Polo pours out his heart about his realities in rising into stardom and the relationships lost along the way. “I cut so many off, my heart be colder than December be.”
The Chicago treasure is expected to release his album Die a Legend tomorrow, June 7, and if the single “Our Bond” is a preview of what’s to come, expect to see Polo G’s name atop the charts for weeks following the album’s release.
