OH YEAH! – [Jooselord]

It seems like damn near every day I’m hearing a new offshoot of rap music. The amount of creativity and uniqueness that some of these artists are portraying is astounding, including the work from North Carolina artist Jooselord. With his coined hip-hop hardcore subgenre, he’s found a niche that reaches far beyond a typical rapper’s target audience; and though it’s not necessarily my first choice in listening, I see the vision and the talent on hand with Joose. His latest track “OH YEAH!” is one that just hit my gym playlist undoubtedly.

From the very first notes of the song, it becomes evident that “OH YEAH!” is more than just another track; it’s an intense experience, not often felt in the sort of music I typically listen to. The eerie yet commanding beat by Chill sets the tone for what is about to unfold, creating an almost haunting atmosphere. The call-and-response messaging within the song only serves to further emphasize the song’s unique nature, leaving an impression that is hard to forget.

Jooselord’s journey in the music industry has been marked by a commitment to addressing critical social issues through his music. His debut album, “S.K.U.L.L.,” bravely tackled themes of police brutality, systemic oppression, and mental health, sparking important conversations. “Moshpit Messiah,” released in 2020, continued to showcase his unapologetic honesty and his willingness to use his platform to advocate for change. Joose’s momentum in the industry continued to rise, making him one of the brightest stars in the region.

“OH YEAH!” is a testament to Jooselord’s versatility as an artist. While his earlier work showcased his willingness to confront challenging topics head-on, this track brings a different kind of intensity. He unleashes raw energy and aggression in his delivery, reminding us that there is always a place in hip-hop for this kind of unapologetic expression. The track is a masterclass in lyricism, where you can feel the effort that has gone into crafting every word.
