North Side South Side- [Thouxanbanfauni] ft. [UnoTheActivist]

Every time Thouxanbanfauni and UnoTheActivist get together to make music with each other, magic is sure to be made without a doubt in my mind. The two Atlanta artists both have the underground Rap genre in the palms of their hands, and even though they have some guest spots with household names in the industry, they maintain a balance of being in the spotlight while also laying low. What’s even more impressive is the fact that even when they do have these star-studded names on a track along-side them, they never let themselves get overshadowed and make a point to stand out amongst the crowd.

The duo linked up again for their latest offering “North Side South Side”. The production is built with valiant synths and delightful piano keys to start which leads to some traditional, simple trap percussion. Fauni starts off the track by talking about his expensive designer clothes as well as violent acts that he may or may not have a hand in carrying out. He also takes over the hooks where he pretty much just repeats the song’s title over and over again, which is impressive considering it truly ends up being a bit of a tongue twister. Uno handles the second verse where he mumbles effortlessly but effectively. He seems to almost lose the beat of the song at times but catches himself at the right moments to carry out the rest of his part, while he talks about similar narratives as Fauni but in a more graphic fashion.

This all-star duo is known for taking what most people assume classic Atlanta trap music is and flipping it on its head. Their latest offering is no exception because although it has similar aspects of trap music, the melody that they use sounds like it’d be out of the story mode of a video game rather than a Rap song. When they got together to make this track, they once again proved my point that everything they make turns to gold, so I’m impressed to say the least. When you get a chance, be sure to listen to “North Side South Side” by Thouxanbanfauni and UnoTheActivist.
