Chicago rap scene newcomer, Cassius Tae, recently released his full length project titled, New Beginnings. I met Cassius at the Lyrical Lemonade pop up shop and we ended up discussing his tape. I knew I had to give it a listen because of how passionate he was about the project. After listening I see exactly why, Cassius has released a conceptual masterpiece. The art of storytelling throughout a project in hip hop is a lost art. Every aesthetic matters, from vocal tones, flows, production, and release. Every project has a stint where consecutive songs essentially make the project worth hearing. With Cassius that comes with To The Block, 3:45am, & Torn Apart. These tracks embody the main point he tries to get across. T he project comes together very well (shout out to whoever did the tracklisting) for the new kid on the block.
