Myself, this time / Lock My Door-[ALLY]

As I’ve said many times before, the area of Nashville is truly a hub for some of the most promising talent in the industry. Over the past couple of months, I’ve stumbled upon many singers/songwriters from Tennessee who are putting together impressive bodies of work and today’s article features one of the latest.

ALLY, originally from Hartselle, Alabama is an up and coming alternative R&B artist who truly has a future in this profession of music. When I first came across her music, it was an instant connection. Her voice possesses an angelic tone that is extremely hard to come by in an industry filled with talent. ALLY has exceptional control over her voice which allows her to experiment and push herself to the edge of her creative boundaries. As an artist, the Nashville native is just getting started, but as you dive into her music, it’s very evident that she’s finding her sound and confidence with every release she drops.

ALLY found her passion for music after spending two years at Middle Tennessee State University. It was there where she began diving into artists like Daniel Caesar and D’Angelo to name a couple; often citing those two as inspiration for her artistry. In 2018, ALLY dropped her most notable song to date entitled “Lil Mama” which organically reached 300k streams on Spotify and became a staple in her small Nashville community.

Today, ALLY is making it onto our pages for the release of two brand new singles, “Myself, this time” and “Lock My Door”. If one song wasn’t enough then you’ll truly find this two song offering to be an absolute treat. The two tracks are completely different from one another from a stylistic standpoint, but both showcase ALLY’s immense talent and beautiful energy. Throughout both songs, she draws upon personal experience as she details a few difficult times in her life that she has had to overcome. The vulnerability that she sings with is really my favorite part about what she’s doing as an artist. Future fans of hers will appreciate her relatability and innate ability to articulate perspectives/experiences that many of us can relate to.

ALLY is just one of the latest Nashville artists who’s making a name for herself and I believe she has the ability to take her career as far as she wants to. “Myself, this time” and “Lock My Door” are available on all streaming platforms. I’ve attached the Spotify link down below, so give them a listen and immerse yourself in the spectacular singer who is ALLY. Enjoy!
