DOA Zayy is the latest artist to burst onto the burgeoning rap scene in Montgomery, Alabama, dropping his first-ever visual this week, remixing Memphis rapper Double-007’s underground hit “Ja Morant” but came onto the track with a completely different flow while still managing to name drop the NBA’s most exciting young talent. Zayy brought out many familiar faces for this video, with Montgomery frontrunners Rubberband OG and Livin’ Legend Lausane there showing support and singing his lyrics. Zayy’s wicked sense of humor is obvious and wordplay is already far beyond many of his peers with the clever lyricism and obvious attention to detail to his craft that all of the Alabama scene prides itself on despite being written off by much of the industry for neighboring talent pools. DashTV brought the song to life and has been capturing much of the talent in Alabama that goes overlooked even for the scene’s standards and has been putting artists on from all over the state. I am really excited to hear more music from DOA Zayy and think it is quite obvious that he has a very bright future.
