Moods – [GlokkNine]

GlokkNine has so much potential and already appeals to the audiences he has managed to captivate, but he has been somewhat quiet in recent memory considering some of the legal situations he’s dealing with. Although he constantly receives comparisons to fellow Florida artist Kodak Black for good reason considering their voices and deliveries are very reminiscent of one another, he separates himself from the comparison by staying true to himself and his roots.

Luckily, he’s back with a more sentimental offering called “Moods”. Clearly the title of the trackbacks up the vibe because it shows a different side of him when you think about how aggressive and violent his lyrics normally are. The wavy beat is also much more toned down than the norm for him, including modest percussion and a riffing guitar sound playing as the melody. He does mention some topics that aren’t uncommon in his lyrics like guns and violence but also reminisces about some experiences he’s had both prior and post music. One thing that people probably don’t remember about the talented rapper is that although he might mumble and slur his words on occasion, his lyrics are always well thought out and the wordplay he uses can be comical at times, but also clever and impressive.

This new track from the Florida native is a prime example of the versatility and duality that he can deliver in the blink of an eye. It’s not necessarily a song that you’re going to blast at a party, but it’d be great to listen to as you cruise around town with the windows down during the summer while remembering old memories that you and your friends once shared. “Moods” is a more meaningful, telling, and explorative single than GlokkNine normally delivers, but it is truly a great listen so give it a spin.
