Two of Florida’s most unique producers came together to create a beat tape titled MasterFubu that is not just a sample of their combined sounds, but a demonstration of an elevated state of production. LordFubu is known for his atmospheric, super crisp instrumentals and with his recent visual album 1000 Degreez, he has proven that you don’t even need to rap vocals to appreciate the mastery of his work. That doesn’t mean bars don’t compliment his style though, A$AP ANT dropped a two track compilation produced by Fubarti and you can literally picture diamonds raining down from the sky as Yg Addie raps about shiny gems and wordly vices. TayMasterChef has produced hits for Supa Bwe, BigBodyFiji, and Lucki among others, and has an engaging sound utilizing one of a kind drum patterns to bring out the best in artists. I picture him as a literal chef, whipping up fire sounds to serve up a full course meal of bangers and he has yet to disappoint. Together, they have concocted an ethereal playlist of sounds that is fitting for the tape’s cover art of zany anime styled characters. It meshes Fubu’s futuristic backdrop and Tay’s dynamic touch to the point where it is sometimes difficult to distinguish their individual contributions since both are always experimenting with new directions, however all you need to know is that they have entered groundbreaking territory because it is a project that is completely engaging and does not contain a single rap lyric. Peaceful, yet intricately put together, I could easily see this being part of a film score and I am excited to see what future ventures these two take on.
