The video for Cash Carti’s smash hit “Magnolia”, off of his self titled debut studio album, is finally here and it is time to admit that the former “Soundcloud Rapper” has fully completed his metamorphosis into a global superstar. (Speaking of metamorphosis, be sure to peep his signature butterfly imagery all throughout the visual.) It all begins with Carti finding the song’s producer, Pi’erre Bourne, in bed with two women and asking the iconic line, “Yo Pi’erre, you wanna come out here?”. For this insane video I’m most certain Pi’erre’s answer was YES. Full of trippy effects and energetic scenes of Carti “runnin from the cops/shooting at the opps”, it’s a stimulus overload of everything the AWGE/Interscope rapper represents-having a good time and not giving a single fuck. One of the best scenes featured is Carti getting a haircut with A$AP Rocky in the barber shop, one of the many cameos Rocky and his crew make in the video and a reminder of the long way the Atlanta rapper has come since his emergence in the underground scene. You can watch the full video for “Magnolia” below as the rest of the world catches on to Young Carti’s wave, this is surely just the beginning.
