Music, by nature, has the profound ability to soundtrack moments of our lives. This very concept is the reason why we often find ourselves associating certain songs/artists with certain periods of our lives and furthermore, why some songs just feel right to listen to at certain times of day. Such is the case with the latest single from Boy Willows, “Lunette.”
Despite clicking play on this song early in the morning, I found that it immediately took me to back to a night from last summer, sitting on a friend’s roof and talking into the late hours of the night. This gut reaction to the song told me everything I needed to know, as Willows’ illustrious instrumentation and seamlessly-fit vocals held meaning far below the surface level appeal of the song.
Needless to say, upon every experience I’ve had with Boy Willows’ music to date, I’ve found that each song feels as though it’s the perfect soundtrack for a moment/phase of my life.
