Love is almost never black and white. Rather, it’s a colorful mix of emotions, and one that supersedes logic in a way that naturally tints the idea of perspective. Perhaps the most tragic part of love, though, is the fact that it can sometimes be unrecognizable until two people begin to drift. Only then do they actually realize what was right in front of them, just as Thandie Bomvu speaks on in her incredible new single, “Love.”
Backed by flowery, gentle instrumentation, “Love” doesn’t rely so much on energy as it does pure emotion. Bomvu seemingly empties out everything that’s been weighing on her shoulders, and as a result, the confessional lyricism illustrates the very moment in which a person realizes just how much a now-distant friend meant to them. Accordingly so, “Love” trudges through pain and reaches an epitome of sorts, creating a notably honest picture of what love — or in this case, what love could have been — really looks like.
Needless to say, this single is a well-executed undertaking from Thandie Bomvu, and the stellar production courtesy of J Grooves gives this one a cherry on top to match.
