Looking back at the strong supply of new albums we’ve received in 2019 as of yet, I can’t deny that Skepta’s Ignorance Is Bliss remains at the top of my list. Few projects have presented such a mature, focused image of their creator, and furthermore, even fewer have done so without following any trends whatsoever. Always known to be a trailblazer of sorts, Skepta, remains at the top of the year’s “best of” lists, and today, he’s here to take a victory lap with the well-executed visuals for track 8 off of the album, “Love Me Not,” featuring Cheb Rabi and B Live.
Soundtracking the presence of artificial love as a result of success, “Love Me Not” is a notably prideful release, allowing Skepta and B Live to speak their thoughts between soaring hooks from none other than Cheb Rabi. Sonically, the chemistry between the three is all there, and making sure to follow in the song’s footsteps, the accompanying visuals paint a seamless portrait of this connection with colorful, lively energy and the backdrop of a bustling club.
Needless to say, Skepta’s move to revisit “Love Me Not” with a new video is a clear reminder that this song is built to be thrown on repeat as the song of the summer, so don’t sleep. Show some love and check out the brilliant new visuals below!
P.S. — Be on the lookout for several star-studded cameos in this one!
