LL Presents: The Kush Worthy Q&A

Kush Worthy is certainly no stranger on our platform, as he has been making some noise in the Chicago music scene for about a year now. As he continues to get better and better with each & every release, I knew that I had to bring him in for our latest Q&A segment! We spoke about everything from his come up & influences, to his 2k skills in our conversation, check it out below & make sure you give him a follow on Twitter here!

EM: First things first, give a brief introduction of yourself for our readers who may not be familiar with you.
KW: First off s/o to the gang 223. My name’s Kush Worthy rep Ace League. Product of the Southside of Chicago. I’m Gucci’s long lost son & a new example of Atlanta’s “trapper turned rapper mold” from the Go. After some convincing from my youngins I put the scale down to try this shit out.
—
EM: When did you first start creating music?
KW: About a year ago, last summer I was on some features under a different moniker with Ace League.
—

EM: How would you describe your sound to someone who had never listened before?

KW: My energy is usually crazy on songs. I don’t really have one sound, it kind of goes w the mood & flow I’m feeling at the time. May get a song bout me screaming fuck my ops or singing about strippers & my love of Atlanta. I’m still figuring out my sound and building it. So I hope fans that I have now and new ones in the future appreciate that I do sound different than a lot of trap on the market. This a different strain of Kush, even if you don’t smoke you’ll get hooked I’m a drug.
—
EM: Where did you grow up?
KW: Southside Chicago made and raised. Spent a chunk of my childhood in Montego Bay, Jamaica. My mom’s hometown
—
EM: How has Chicago influenced you and your sound?

KW: Chicago has influenced me greatly: my lingo, my mind & who I am. I trapped, banged and almost lost my life a few times here but I’m still here. I try to give a view of my trials & tribulations such as: court cases, losing friends to violence, serving & shit just turning up w those I hold close. Hope some can relate or at least smoke a blunt to my shit. As far as sound I listened to Do or Die, Twista, Bump J, Ye and hella Louie. My new influences for sure have been Dotty, Freako, Twotimes, Chuck Chambers & my nigga Roo Money. Of course Drill music influenced me a lot but Trap is where my heart is. Most of my sound however is from Atlanta or the South. Like Three 6 Mafia, Gucci, UGK or Curren$y

—
EM: Who are your top five influences musically?

KW:

In no order:
Gucci Mane
Future
Key!
Ye
Lil Wayne
—
EM: If you could collab with one person dead or alive who would it be?
KW: Alive Gucci. Dead Speaker Knockerz.
—
EM: Explain your relationship with Adot.
KW: I’m Dotty’s big brother think Fredo & Keef. Our cousin Leek use to rap w/ King Louie back in like 09′ 2010. I would go to take pics and other shit. Adot started coming out to the studios w us, he got me to join Ace League in the first place before current events. Before I rapped helped him out w PR, behind the scenes shit. Back when I was Ace League’s creative director. One of my biggest supporters & biggest influences. He deserves everything he’s worked for and he’s worked his ass off. I have him on a few features but he finally let me get on one of his songs recently, I gotta go harder haha. He’s finally going to drop a project soon. Stop sleeping on Adot.
—
EM: Explain your relationship with Freako.

KW: That’s lil bro too not like Dotty but that’s my twin. We ont look shit alike but we both act a donkey, gon get this money and push each other. Way deeper than this rap shit. That’s my woadie hit stains together. I’ll shoot someone dead between they eyes for fam. Niggas don’t wanna see us in 2k on the Park or Proam haha. We have an EP called “Lean & Bacon” coming out in July. Before he joined Ace League I was a fan of his music, he’s been cold. He only getting better and truthfully bout to slaughter a lotta “artists”. Wouldn’t of met Kidd Two Times or Roo Money if it wasn’t for him. HDL SHIT. We gotta lot of crazy ideas and plans. Go cop Oasis on iTunes/Spotify ASAP!!

—
EM: What was the first album you bought?
KW: Diplomatic Immunity – The Diplomats
—
EM: Whats your favorite movie?
KW: Shottas
—
EM: What is your favorite song that you have created so far?
KW: This song I haven’t dropped yet called Way Up. Played it for a party in Minneapolis & people really rocked with it. Def a summer turn up song
—
EM: Cubs or White Sox?
KW: I’m a Southsider. White Sox forever, but fuck with what the cubs did. 100+ yr drought over & brought the city another ship
—
EM: The National Anthem or The International Players Anthem?
KW: Lmao International Player’s Anthem. Rip Pimp C.
—
EM: What are your thoughts about Donald Trump?
KW: In my second song “El Guapo” I say the line “Fuck Donald Trump leave his ass slumped”. Still stand by that line
—
EM: What can our readers expect from Kush Worthy for the rest of 2017?
KW: First real project w/ Freako “Lean&Bacon” EP drops sometime in July, have multiple movies coming out w/ lil bro Wolf (@whylonewolf) soon, hopefully some shows too. Choppadino produced by Luke Almighty drops 6/20 really showed my growth. I’m having more fun on tracks. We’re thinking of making an Ace League tape soon as well. A lot more music from me, I have a new strip club song but I’m not sure if I’m ready for that.
—
EM: Last question, where do you see yourself in 5 years?
KW: Feet up on a beach in Jamaica whenever I want. Doing shows over seas, touring w/ gang. Running a label with my own artists. Really would like to get into doing movies or tv. Have some music done with Zaythoven & Metro. Have my own medical strains & dispensaries (like multiple franchises). Few houses in Japan & LA. My mom’s gon have a Ferrari even though she prolly couldn’t drive it and wants a Range Rover haha
