I first heard of Jarrett Rad when my homie Isaiah put me onto his music last year, and ever since then I have made it a point to check out each and every one of his releases. EM: Before we dive into the questions, give our readers who may not be familiar with you a brief introduction of yourself.
JR: For those who don’t know me, I go by the name of Jarrett Rad aka Jdot, and I’m a 20 year old artist from the south suburbs of Chicago. I’ve been making music seriously for about 2 years and I started about 4 years ago underneath a collective my friend and I made in high school, it started as a joke but, now I’m here

EM: What is your earliest memory of music?
JR: Damn near had to be being in the car with my pops when I was young as hell replaying Mase off this portable CD player. I had just got the album welcome back lmao, I felt like that nigga.

EM: That’s legendary, I had the same CD. When did you first start creating music?
JR: I got into music my freshmen year of high school, sophomore year is when I really began writing and recording. My homie Jon dropped dumb bread on equipment, and he produced so it was a like why not keep at it, you feel me?

EM: What/who inspired you to become an emcee?
JR: Looking back I was always into music but I never really had the want to make my own, then the OF wave began to buss, I saw first hand what they were doing, at their age and the lifestyle attracted me, they helped me figure out my calling.

EM: How would you describe your music to someone who has never listened before?
JR: To someone who hasn’t listened before, I’d rather let my music speak, but as far as upcoming drops, expect more music you can feel through energy. melodies and flow

EM: That’s one of mine as well, what can our readers expect from you for the rest of 2017?
JR: 2017, expect a lot more music, definitely plan on tripling what I did last year. But specifically gonna be throwing out a lot of singles, a few visuals, a mini project, and my first full length EP will be dropped. Also collaborations, definitely a few of those too.

EM: Last question, where do you see yourself in 5 years?
JR: In five years I see myself having complete comfortability with my sound, doing what I love for a check and hopefully using my art as a career wherever it takes me.
