Little While – [Sada Baby] ft. [Big Sean] & [Hit-Boy]

If you think about the rap industry in general, it’s no surprise anymore that Detroit is one of the biggest hubs in modern rap music currently, and that’s not going to come to an end anytime soon. While Lil Yachty helped highlight some of the immense talents throughout Michigan on his Michigan Boy Boat project that came out not too long ago, that tape definitely can’t act as the end-all, be-all for all the incredible musicians coming out of the state.

It’s no secret that out of all the big names, Sada Baby is definitely always in the conversation, and rightfully so. While he has been one of my absolute favorite emcees in general over the past year or so, it’s even more insane that he has only put out mixtapes and EPs which leaves fans begging the question, when is an album going to come out? Luckily, Sada decided to put those questions to bed, announcing that his debut album Him Not Them is going to be coming out soon. Along with this announcement comes an insanely entertaining new song called “Little While” that he debuted earlier today on Apple Music 1 with Zane Lowe. Produced by the legendary hitmaker Hit-Boy and featuring fellow Detroit superstar Big Sean, this record had all the makings for a banger, and they definitely pulled through.

Opening up with the beat, we’re introduced to some sort of pulsating synth rotation, crispy percussion, and deep, pungent drums that prove an insane bounce for the two rappers to go to town. That’s exactly what they do as Sada opens up with an equally bouncy delivery, never really yelling or getting too rowdy throughout the hook or verse but rather softly speaking his words with a hint of aggression and playfulness as he snarls his lyrics effortlessly. When Sean comes in, though, he also begins with a slightly smooth, buttery cadence that seems to just roll off of his tongue as he spits some enthusiastically cool bars over this remarkable instrumental.

I obviously had big hopes going into this record just based on the names that worked on the song together, and they didn’t disappoint even slightly. The beat is as unique and masterful as it gets, the two artists go to town and shred the instrumental to pieces, and it’s legitimately the perfect single to get fans amped up for the upcoming album that Sada announced earlier today as well. It’s clear that Sada isn’t going to put out a collection of just any songs, so I already know that this project is going to be special, but while we wait, it’s absolutely mandatory that you check out the Detroit star’s latest song “Little While” featuring Big Sean and Hit-Boy.
