Leave – [Shordie Shordie]

There are some artists in the music industry that have been making major buzz for years, but I just don’t seem to cross paths with them nearly as often as I should. Shordie Shordie is one of these people, and while I have thoroughly enjoyed pretty much everything that I have heard from him thus far, I know that there is so much more to him than that handful of songs that I have tapped in with. In fact, I didn’t even realize that he was actually the first Baltimore rapper to ever go double platinum, and even though this is clearly news to me, I am not surprised considering just how entertaining he is every time I listen to one of his songs.

This personality and enthusiasm are taken even further on his recently released EP Me & Mine Pt. II, the follow-up to his 2019 project that definitely saw some love and success, and even though this new tape is only 3 songs long, it makes a huge splash thanks to Shordie’s insanely addicting energy. Luckily, he didn’t let the fun stop there thanks to the Aesthetic Visuals-directed music video where he brings the EP’s middle song “Leave” to life, and I am so excited about it.

While the majority of this flick is pretty simple and minimal, Shordie proves that he’s undeniably the most entertaining act to come out of Baltimore by far, and he is definitely the star of the show no matter how big or small that show might be. Considering there have been so many highlights throughout Shordie Shordie’s growing career, it is only a matter of time before he is mentioned in the same sentences as the other greats are, but until then, I know he’s going to keep grinding and making incredible music, and that is something to be thrilled about in and of itself.
