Earlier today, I was scrolling through my Twitter feed when I saw the bold artwork for Berkeley artist Keith Jenkins‘ newest project, Keith World 2. Although I was originally brought in by the cover, I must say that this tape was a great find overall. Jenkins’ charismatic West Coast energy makes for 7 hard-hitting tracks of memorable lyricism and infectious deliveries, and there never seems to be a dull moment as long as his personality as a natural entertainer is on the mic. Additionally, this tape is fully produced by Lil Rece who absolutely kills it on the boards. He brings all the ends of Keith World 2 together under one sound that in all honesty, I don’t know if I’ve heard anything quite like before with standout tracks such as “Injured List” and “Pop Three” to lead the way. Each and every song hits just right and I will be keeping this mixtape on repeat for weeks to come as I look further into Jenkins’ catalog. Be sure to give Keith World 2 a listen here and let us know what you think in the comments below.
