Each day, I am completely blown away when realizing how many talented individuals there are on this earth at the same time. Just when I think nothing/no one else can surprise me, I find myself taken back by artists who redefine what “good music” is. I thought I’ve heard it all, but today, making it on to the page of Lyrical Lemonade is someone who deserves to be praised and celebrated for all that he has contributed to music.
If you’ve heard of super stars like One Direction, Shawn Mendes, Katy Perry and John Legend, then, odds are you’ve been exposed to the sheer brilliance of a songwriter named John Ryan. The Rochester, NY native found his songwriting path becoming paved by way of his Berklee College community and then went on to write hits for some of the most recognizable artists in the music industry. Throughout the course of his career, John Ryan’s compositions and productions have sold 30+ million units worldwide and have accrued 17+ billion streams; a feat that not many can say they have achieved.
The expertise that John has shown is nothing shy of spectacular, but today he is being featured for his solo artist project that will leave you just as speechless as his collective accolades. John The Blind is the alias of John Ryan and today it is imperative to take the time to shine a light on the stellar project that he just released not too long ago. “isolation” is the 13 song album that you didn’t really know you needed until now. I stumbled on this collection of songs the very Friday that it was released and spent the entire evening going through and replaying the entire thing. With songs like “alien jewelry” and “dear life”, John the Blind showcases his extensive mastery of music making to the point where it almost feels unfair. The amount of talent and skill that exudes from this project is extremely impressive and excites me for all that’s to come for his solo career. From first listen, it was evident that John the Blind is at the upper tier of a lot of artists who are releasing music and his popularity will grow even larger than where it’s at now.
John The Blind is an amazing act and I’m honored to be able to feature him on our blog. His resume speaks for itself and I can’t wait to see how much more he adds to it. I’ve attached the Spotify link down below, so give this one a listen and let us know what you think!
