In the mood for the next summertime banger to soundtrack your August to? Look no further than the emerging duo, Jawn Timeless, who intertwine influences of pop, hip-hop, and r&b all into one. Made up of artist/producer, phin of Vermont, and Jocular William of Massachusetts, you might think that stylistically the two would make for an unlikely duo, but their musical chemistry exemplified in their recent offering says differently. Making their debut just last month, Jawn Timeless immediately set the music world on notice with the release of their single, “IDKBYK”, which I’m elated to be highlighting today.
A feel-good anthem for fans of artists like Still Woozy and Remi Wolf, “IDKBYK” is a wonky and spirited record that packs a much-needed punch of serotonin just in time for this Friday night. Kicking it off with staccato synth keys, we are quickly greeted by phin’s infectious hook and vocals that fill the air in the beat with nothing but good vibes. Eventually passing off the torch to Jocular in the second verse who captures our attention with sporadic rap flows and punchy bars, the two leave no doubt in their listeners’ minds that they have a bright future ahead of them. Empowering the youth with their uplifting messaging, Jawn Timeless had this to say about the tune:
“‘IDYBYK’ is an avenue to confidence for the kids on the outskirts of the dance floor, making it cool to not know where you stand.”
