I Cannot Love You – [Mario Judah]

Mario Judah is a name that virtually everyone should be familiar with at this point in time. Although. I don’t know a ton about him, it’s clear that he has the internet in the palm of his hand, using his abilities of both self-promotion mixed with a hint of trolling to bring light to his music. While other artists might not have the sound or skills to back up their words, Mario has rapidly amassed a sizeable following that is definitely no small feat.

Most recently, Mario took to the internet once again to drop off a brand-new song entitled “I Cannot Love You”, an extremely emotional love ballad about heartbreak and deception. Judah also produced, mixed, and mastered this record all by himself, using some extremely aggressive 808s, a lowkey synth melody, and chattering hats and claps to provide a fairly subdued instrumental that his words are going to shine over.

As he sings, there are clear influences of Punk Rock and even metal at times while his words are delivered in the purest, unobstructed fashion to make sure that his pain and heartache is felt within each and every lyric. Beyond this, his lyricism is simple enough to ingest and understand where he’s coming from, but it also does a wonderful job of being able to sympathize with others who have dealt with a similar situation as Mario which is always a big thing for artists trying to connect directly with their fans.

As far as the video is concerned, I’m not entirely sure who directed it but with Mario taking the brunt of the workload on the song itself, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that he was behind the camera as well as in front of it. In the visual, he takes himself, a shovel, and a body bag to the forest at night where he proceeds to dig holes, reenact his pain by punching the body bag, and running around, trying to hide from his feelings. It’s never clearly stated, but considering this song is all about his ex-cheating on him, it can be assumed that it’s her in the body bag and it’s clear that no one else should mess with Mario’s emotions moving forward.

Although Mario has been in music for a bit more time as a producer, it’s obvious that once he began to record his own vocals as well, his career took off to unforeseen heights. While TikTok has played a pivotal role in helping his music reach millions of new ears, those listeners have stuck around and helped to make sure that he wasn’t just a one-hit-wonder that people are going to look back and laugh at a few years down the line. Mario Judah has made his presence known time and time again, and he’s definitely not going anywhere, so make sure you give the man the credit he has worked so long and hard for.
